Transformational leadership - Fundación Contra El Hambre
campagna-1

The leadership project for the reduction of Covid-19 in the regions of Lima and Huancavelica, aims to contribute to the leadership of these communities and their initiatives to implement organized responses to face the sanitary and social crisis that the presence of this disease has generated among its inhabitants characterized by experiencing conditions of poverty and extreme poverty.

The interest of community leaders is focused on facing the Coronavirus pandemic as a first step, from which, after overcoming the crisis in the scenario of the new normality, they must continue with the development actions of their communities. This currently implies, as a priority, the organization of the Community Health Surveillance Committee in the communities, formed by leaders of the different Social Organizations of the community, and the implementation of a program on massive actions to raise awareness of the population in prevention and control of Covid-19, promoted by these committees and articulated with primary health care facilities in the community and in the local government. These are the main strategies that the project intends to strengthen.

In the same way, the project considers training the leaders of the community health surveillance committees in the preparation of contingency plans that reflect all the initiatives of the population in their fight to prevent Covid-19 infection and the spread of this disease as well as the guidance for an articulated work with primary health care facilities and the local government.

On the other hand, the project considers the participation of the local church as a key and active element in favor of the community during this period of crisis, due to the messages of hope and Christian service that the church can provide during this time as part of their testimony in the community. Church members will be trained in Christian perspectives so the church can take action in times of crisis with the elaboration of action plans that will guide them to carry out actions and small service projects of assistance for those vulnerable families of the community. Likewise, the articulation of the church and community plans, elaborated by leaders, will be promoted in order to achieve synergies in favor of the most vulnerable.
